“Starting with the April 22, 2018 police examinations, there shall be no height requirement for the Philippine National Police (PNP) entrance exam applicants as long as they are bachelor’s degree holder and not more than 30 years old. the statement said.

Interested applicants may register from January 29 to February 2 for the PNP Entrance Examination while from February 5 to 9 for the Police Office Exam and February 12 for the Senior Police Officer, Inspector and Superintendent Exam.

On the other hand, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said they would not discriminate against members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community who may want to apply.

With this open invitation, they had reminders to the LGBT Community who wish to apply for the position in the Military. They should act properly and behave properly.

"We were being asked kung ang recruitment ba namin will include members of the LGBT - the so-called LGBT community. Are we not going to discriminate against them? Ang sagot po namin, no. The AFP is not going to discriminate against them. Malaya po silang makapag-apply at pumasok sa Armed Forces," said Colonel Edgard Arevalo, AFP chief of public affairs.

Colonel Arevalo reminded everyone that AFP is a uniformed service and should not be treated with no values.

"Subalit ang amin pong tagubilin ay iisa lamang. Sa sandaling sila po ay mag-apply at tanggapin na po sa Armed Forces of the Philippines, atin po silang pinapa-alalahanan na kailangan po nilang mag-act at kumilos nang may dignidad at pag-iingat sa kanilang unipormang isusuot. Sapagkat an AFP is a uniformed service. It is a noble profession of arms," he added.

He reiterated that everyone is welcome including the LGBT Community now. That if anyone can fulfill the application requirements would be very much welcome to the AFP, regardless of the gender issues.

"They are welcome. Pwede po silang mag-apply, Tatanggapin po natin sila sa AFP, but of course they have to pass all the examinations, all the tests," he said.
