Award Winning Director Binibining Joyce Bernal to Direct President Duterte's SONA

Award winning and box office Director Binibining Joyce Bernal was the top choice to Direct President Rodrigo Duterte's State of the Nation Address. This will be President Duterte's third State of the Nation Address. 

The news was according to Communications Secretary Martin Andanar that was confirmed on Thursday. We all know that last year's SONA was directed by none other than Brillante Mendoza who also directed the first two SONA's of the Philippine President.

Bernal was known in directing comedy movies such as Kimmy Dora, Gandarrapiddo: The Revengers Squad, and Bakit Di Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?

Aside from gaining box office hits in movies, Bernal also received numerous awards, last 2013 she awarded as the "Best Director" for her action film 10,000 Hours starring Robin Padilla. 

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque gave a sneak peek on what will happen on the third SONA of the President. 

"They want it to be a message straight form the heart of the President, not hindered by the need to report achievements," he said in a briefing Thursday.
