Tinulak ng Abogadong si Glenn Chong ang Commission on Election na pakinggan kanyang abiso’t pumili ng ibang election service providers pagkat may malaking problema ang teknolohiya ng Smartmatic pagdating sa kanilang automated election system (AES).

Ayon sa abogado,

“We would like to call on the Comelec under its new chairman to seriously consider other alternatives when it comes to providing the elections provider for the [AES].”

Ito’y pagkat,      

 “The Smartmatic AES does not allow a voter to change a wrong vote,” dinagdag ni Chong.

Ipinakita ni Chong ang mga imahe ng balota noong eleksyong 2016 ng Camarines Sur 3^rd District para sa kongresista’t lokal na opisyal at kanyang isiniwalat na ang AES ay ang siyang kusang pumipili kung anong boto ang kanyang kikilalanin at kung anong boto ang hindi kikilalalanin.

Ito’y isang malaking problema pagkat madali itong manipulahin at gamitin para sa anumalya sa eleksyon. Patunay din na kahit umunlad na ang botohan, hindi parin mawawala ang anumalyang nagiging problema ng kahit anong eleksyon.

Isa rin itong patunay na ang pag-rerecount ng mga Electoral Tribunal ay importante upang mapatunayan kung sino talaga ang nanalo sa eleksyon.
