To oversee the day to day operations of the Office of the President, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea will be the officer-in-charge (OIC) while President Rodrigo Duterte is off to South Korea for his three-day official visit.
Duterte leaves the country on June 2 by midnight on the way to Seoul, South Korea where he will be strengthening in international ties and other official functions.
MalacaƱang released Special Order No. 511 which turned over the duties of the Office of the President to Medialdea where he will “act for and on behalf of the President except on the matters that the President is required by the Constitution to act in person during the time that the President outside the Republic of the Philippines from June 3 to 5.”
Until then, all the acts of the Executive Secretary are for and on behalf of the President pursuant to the order shall be deemed as acts of the President unless disapproved or reprobated by the President.
