The event started with a celebration of last year’s Binibini winners who took home top prizes from international pageants: Miss Universe Top 10 finalist 2017 Rachel Peters; Bb. Pilipinas International 2017 Mariel de Leon; Miss Intercontinental 1st runner-up Katarina Rodriguez; Miss Grand International 2017 2nd runner-up Elizabeth Clenci; Miss Supranational 2017 Top 10 finalist Chanel Olive Thomas; and Miss Globe 2017 1st runner-up Nelda Ibe.
This year’s 40 candidates then introduced themselves one by one after a traditional pageant dance number. All of them were in uniform black swimsuits with floral tunics.
But aside on the awaited revelation on who will be the winners for this year's Binibini.

Face of Philippine Volleyball and Sports lifestyle Alyssa Valdez and Finals MVP of UAAP Basketball Season 80 and Collegiate Star from Ateneo Blue Eagles Thirdy Ravena were chosen as the judges last Sunday at Araneta.

Binibining Pilipinas 2018 with Eva Psychee Patalinjug crowned Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2018. She also received a special award as the Face of Binibini.
Patalinjug was able to impress the crowd and the judges after she answered the question “What is the role of beauty queens in the pursuit of our country’s economic success, if any?”
“A role of the beauty queen is to be the voice. I am here to make a message to all of you. In these times of uncertainty and fear that have seemingly taken over in our country, we have remained steadfast as we face all of the challenges. As a united nation, what we should do is to set aside our political differences, forget our academic and social preferences, and let love and loyalty for our country to rise above all,” answered Patalinjug.
But a netizen posted and compare Eva's Q&A answer to a magazine campaign statement that was sounds familiar and nearly the same.
Netizens commented on the viral post by one of the netizens in facebook telling that it is a copycat on Mega Magazine's #TheNewPH campaign. Some were commenting that it was scripted but others were also defending Eva and finds nothing wrong with it.
