Harry Roque calls Mocha Uson a Role Model for Women: Nagpa Sexy pero Nagbago na Ngayon!

For presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, if he where to choose who is a role model being a Filipina, it would probably be Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson. 

For Roque, Uson has the potential to make a big impact on the lives of many people because of her social media powers and her popularity in it. 

Roque made the admission in an online interview on Friday where he was asked to name the "inspiring women" in his life. 

"Ang sabi ko talaga, hindi ko lang alam kung naniwala siya sa akin, na ang hinahangaan ko ay napakaraming naniniwala sa kaniya at sumusunod sa kaniya sa Facebook. At ang sabi ko nga, napakalaki ng potential na mayroon si Mocha Uson para magkaroon ng impact sa buhay ng napakaraming tao dahil ngayon pa lang ay sinusundan na siya," he said.

Mocha has already more than five million social media followers on her own Facebook Page, (Mocha Uson Blog), which she first used when President Duterte ran last May 2016. 

Her detractors, meanwhile, slam her for spreading false news and unsupported claims.

Roque, continued praising Uson's big impact over social media and to other people's lives. 

"Ang sabi ko nga napakalaki ng potensyal na meron si Mocha Uson para magkaroon ng impact sa buhay ng napakaraming tao dahli ngayon pa lang ay sinusundan na siya," he said.

Although, Uson has lots of detractors and critics because of her previous job and identity as an entertainer, Roque still praised Uson because of her good life changing and live another second chance being a Communications Assistant of President Duterte. 

"Kinakailangan mabuhay. Kinakailangan magbigay ng sustento sa pamilya. Gagawin mo ang dapat gawin, pero 'yung parte ng buhay na yun ni Mocha Uson tapos na," Roque said. "Walang kahit sino ang pwedeng sabihin na hindi pwedeng makaroon ng pangalawang pagkakataon."

Uson, who was appointed to her government post in 2017, enjoys the support of over five million subscribers on her Facebook page, MOCHA USON Blog. The Communications official is a known supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, using her page as a platform to express her opinion. 

Last October 2017, Mocha was invited in the Senate hearing regarding on the spreading of Fake News in social Media. 

Senators put the spotlight on fake news. Senator Grace Poe being the senate committee on Public Information and Mass Media investigates on Wednesday the spread of malicious lies and misinformation especially on social media simply called as “FAKE NEWS”.

Uson also defend herself that she was also a victim of Fake News about her. 

During the senate hearing, Uson said earlier “Biktima rin po ako ng Fake News”, hindi pa po ako na appoint bilang opisyal ng gobyerno, naglabas na ang ABSCBN na ako po ay na-appoint bilang customs consultant. At dahil po doon ay ako po ay nabash.”

She also stated a while ago, about mainstream media. “At isa pa po, kadalasan na nagpapakalat din po ng fake news ay ang ating ilang mainstream media. Katulad po ng GMA News nung sinamahan ko si Pangulong Duterte doon, sinabi po ng GMA na ako daw po nag selfie sa loob ng Grand Mosque sa Marawi ng naka-boots”  

She clarified this to the muslim community and apologize as well, though she didn’t do anything, opposite on what the news spread against her. 


She ended her statement by saying that these were examples of fake news and that’s why she was there to support the hearing because she was also a victim of fake news. 

Apart from Uson, Roque also praised his wife, Mylah, for being the embodiment of a "independent" Filipina and described Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos as "down to earth" and effective public servant.

"Alam mo si Governor Imee, sa ayaw mo at sa gusto  mo, eh magiging kaibigan mo, kasi down to earth, ang tawag nga namin sa kaniya ang babaeng bakla, pag ako kasama siya, walang tigil ang aking tawa, puro talaga  kasiyahan kapag kasama mo si Imee," he said
