Isiniwalat ng beteranong mamahayag na si Jay Sonza ang pagiging parte at kaalaman ni Senadora Risa Hontiveros sa kontrobersyal na P10-bilyong pondong para sana sa mga Senior Citizen ngunit ipinagkait upang “mapaunlad” ang mga health center ng Department of Health (DOH) dahil sa hiling nila dating DOH Secretary Janette Garin at dating Philippine Health Insurance Company (PhilHealth) President Alex Padilla.

Sabi ng beteranong mamahayag sa kanyang Facebook post na,

                "SEN. RISA HONTIVEROS was part of PhilHealth Board when the P10.6B were taken out by Aquino, Garin, Abad & Padilla."

Ito’y kasunod ng rebelasyon ng PhilHealth Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ruben Basa patungkol sa sulat na pinadala ni Garin at Padilla sa Department of Budget and Management noong Abril 2015 na naglalayung hingiin ang permiso sa paglilipat ng pondo.

Kanya ring isiniwalat na posible na maubos ang pondo ng PhilHealth sa darating na 2022 kundi ito gagawan ng paraan.

Laki namang pagkakadismaya sa senadora ang ipinahiwatig ng mga netizens ng Facebook.

Sabi ni Anna KM Lappay na,

“Pnoy regime fund jugglers and experts. Systemic corruption to the core and the escapegoat is the Marcoses and martial law. Sila pala ang mga disenteng magnanakaw at hindi si Marcos.  

GRABEEEEEEEEEEEE!”

At ipinunto naman ni Athena Granados na,

“She should be included in the class suit. The Budget Sec.would not have approved the release were it not sanctioned by the board.”

Hinihinala naman ng Kongreso na ang pondong inilipat at ipinagkait sa mga Senior Citizens ay ginamit ng Liberal Party para sa eleksyon, isang party-list na miyembro ang senadora’t ang dating Pangulong nanunungkulan noong ito’y nangyayari, Benigno “Noynoy” Simeon Aquino III.
